I so expected to enjoy this book for the setting, the period, and theme. The town is pretty much deserted - a beach town after everyone has gone back to their regular lives. When Effie makes a bid or two for her own sexual freedom late on, it only emphasizes the injustice of spending so much time foregrounding Henry’s perspective. This novel is juicy, sharp, and soaked in gin. Henry is a young country boy from Georgia and he just married his high school sweet heart, Effie. The series has been offering contradictory clues. Now you may have an idea about what to expect from Cape May. Cape May Winery and Vineyard is a family-owned business that got its start in 1989. A mix of the charming, modern, and tried and true.
