That said, there were times when they put me in a sweater and then a suit jacket. When I was in those outfits, I would have to take the jacket off because I was running around all over the place and getting too sweaty. In Episode 8 of LEGO Masters, “Good vs. Evil” (3/26/2020), each team picked two minifigures from LEGO’s Collectible Minifigure Series 19, and turn them into either a team of superheroes or a squad of supervillains! Regardless of all that, I think Christian and I did a lot of work for which we deserve to be really proud, and I’m very proud of our builds on the show. For me, that was one of the hardest moments in the whole experience. It’s something to build on your own, but a completely other thing to meet the community behind it. So, we got to not just build alongside many of the people who had become our peers, but also got to hang out with them a bit. The other big takeaway for me is that a build story should tell itself from the first glance at it, which is something I have always strived for. He had basically no experience to this point with working with Power Functions or motors or gears or anything like that in his models. So, I was happy to be displayed that way, and I’m happy with the way the show branded Christian and I in terms of our wardrobe. It was beautiful, it really was. I feel like a much more rounded builder after the show. Obviously, looking back on challenges where we faced more critique, or for example the challenge that sent us home, there are things I would have done differently. For the challenge, each team had to present their own recreation of this zany tale involving a “book chicken,” a “horse that can do gymnastics,” a “Taker-Waker,” and more.
